In the case of electric car charging and solar installations, you must have an earth fault breaker type B according to the new electrical installation rules 2017 (Edition 3 of SS 436 40 00). It is a Swedish standard that should be followed. The reason for this is that an ordinary earth leakage circuit breaker can stop working if it is used in these contexts, which in the worst case can lead to fire or electric accidents.

How can it be that there is never talk of earth-fault switch type B for single-phase wall outlets such as charging hybrids are discharged?

We also recommend replacing old wall outlets with new ones of good quality as old wall outlets can cause slippage contact and hot running if they are heavily stressed for a long time.
