RULES
For electric car charging and solar installations, you must have a ground fault circuit interrupter type B according to the new electrical installation rules 2017 (Edition 3 of SS 436 40 00). It is a Swedish standard that should be followed. The reason for this is that an ordinary earth fault circuit breaker can stop working if it is used in these contexts, which in the worst case can lead to fire or electrical accidents.

How can it be that there is never any talk of earth fault circuit breakers type B for single-phase wall sockets such as charging hybrids are being charged off?
ANSWER: The new rules from 2017 apply to all new installations, a three-phase charging station is in principle always a new installation and these must then either be equipped with earth fault circuit breakers type B or supplemented with one. previously and the requirements do not apply to these. Based on this reasoning, it is never wrong to supplement an old socket with a single-phase earth fault circuit breaker type B. We also recommend that you replace old wall sockets with new ones of good quality as old wall sockets can cause loose contact and hot running if they are heavily loaded for a long time.
